Mar Thoma College of Science & Technology was established in the year 1995. The college has seven Undergraduate and six Postgraduate programmes. Most of the courses are Science & Technology oriented courses with 864 students and 67 faculty members on rolls.
The library is located in a prime area of the campus with 2756 Sq.ft.It is functioning from 8.30 am to 4.30 pm on all days except Sundays and Public Holidays. The learning resources include books in print and journals.
The library is open to all members of the staff and students of the college and the users have direct access to the shelves in the stack room and reading hall. The library is partially automated using Integrated Library Management Software (ILMS) LIBSOFT, which provides user friendly interface for searching documents (OPAC). The college uses Dewey Decimal Classification (DDC) scheme for classifying documents. INTERNET and E -Mail services are made use of by students and staff of the college.
The college is registered under the INFLIBNET-NList. (N-LIST College ID: 7515) The Project entitled "National Library and Information Services Infrastructure for Scholarly Content (N-LIST)", being jointly executed by the e-ShodhSindhu Consortium, INFLIBNET Centre and the INDEST-AICTE Consortium, IIT Delhi provides for i) cross-subscription to e-resources subscribed by the two Consortia, i.e. subscription to INDEST-AICTE resources for universities and e-ShodhSindhu resources for technical institutions; and ii) access to selected e-resources to colleges. The N-LIST project provides access to e-resources to students, researchers and faculty from colleges and other beneficiary institutions through server(s) installed at the INFLIBNET Centre. The authorized users from colleges can now access e-resources and download articles required by them directly from the publisher's website once they are duly authenticated as authorized users through servers deployed at the INFLIBNET Centre.

Founded in 1934 by Sir C V Raman the Indian Academy of Sciences, Bangalore was registered as a Society on 27 April 1934 with the main objective of promoting the progress and upholding the cause of science. Publication of scientific journals has been a major activity of the Academy since its formation in 1934. Virtual Lab at Amrita Intelligent development of virtual laboratories with state-of-the-art computer simulation technology to create real world environments and problem handling capabilities is required to bridge the gap between institutions (or industries) .
